What can I do to get my company noticed? How can I sell my products and services? How can I drive more traffic to my website? What do I need to do increase my social media presence? As a Virtual Assistant, I am asked daily......
I am Jamie Pirowskin, founder of Jamie and Friends and lead Virtual Assistant. I offer my clients a cost effective, flexible way to get the support they need, so they can focus their time on revenue generating responsibilities. I am a naturally cheerful, happy, outgoing, and proactive person, and I love continuously developing and nurturing client relationships.
So how did I get here? The most bittersweet moment in my life came when I was working as Assistant Marketing Manager/Executive Assistant to the CEO of a large firm in Manhattan. In 2011, they downsized. I was scared. I didn’t know what to do. I’d never been unemployed before, and I had a baby boy on the way! Then I realized this could be the best thing that ever happened to me. I knew that I needed a job that was going to afford me the flexibility I needed for my important new role as a mother. Long commutes and 10-hour work days in the corporate world would not provide that flexibility. Having over a decade of marketing and executive support experience, I knew that I could find a way to use and expand upon those skills.
After talking with some of my colleagues, the idea of bringing a “corporate mindset” to small business owners, in the form of being a Virtual Assistant, was brought to my attention. I realized… That’s it! I love working with all kinds of people. I love implementing tasks and seeing them to completion. My new career as a Virtual Assistant and the founding of Jamie and Friends had begun!
Before I started my entrepreneurial venture, I worked as Marketing Manager and Executive Assistant to the CEO at an enterprise-wide staffing and onsite outsourcing firm, Assistant Manager, Global and Domestic Public Relations for one of the largest fragrance and cosmetics companies in the world and Sales Assistant at an advertising agency.
As you can see, I was completely immersed in the world of big business. The training and experiences I had during those years were the best of the best, but I could not be happier combining motherhood with being a small business owner helping other small business owners. I LOVE being my own boss and I love working with so many different clients in such a wide variety of businesses. For the first time in my life I can easily say that I LOVE WHAT I DO and I wake up every morning looking forward to DOING IT!
